Which PFI-3700 Ink Fits My Printer?

All tanks are genuine Canon, 700ml, LUCIA PRO II pigment ink. A tick shows which series each tank fits. Matte Black (PFI-2700MBK) and Orange (PFI-2700O) carry PFI-2700 names but belong to this ink set. Other sizes: see the PFI-3100 160ml range or the PFI-3300 330ml range.

700ml, 330ml or 160ml: Which Size Should You Buy?

The PFI-3700 700ml tanks hold more than twice the ink of the PFI-3300 330ml tanks. The ink inside is the same LUCIA PRO II formula, so colour and print quality do not change, only the capacity.

• Choose 700ml for busy studios and production print rooms: fewer tank changes, fewer interruptions to long print runs and usually a lower cost per ml.
• Choose 330ml for lower-volume printing, or for colours you use less often, so ink is used well within its shelf life. For the smallest outlay, choose the 160ml PFI-3100.

Many studios mix sizes, fitting 700ml tanks for their fastest-used colours and smaller tanks for the rest.

PRO 12-Ink vs GP 7-Ink: What's the Difference?

• PRO-2600, PRO-4600, PRO-6600 (12 inks): built for photography, fine art and giclée. On top of the core inks they add Photo Cyan, Photo Magenta and Photo Grey for smoother highlights, Red and Blue for a wider colour gamut, and Chroma Optimiser for even gloss on photo papers.
• GP-2600S, GP-4600S, GP-6600S (7 inks): built for posters, retail and point-of-sale graphics. They use Matte Black, Photo Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Grey and Orange (PFI-2700O).

The Matte Black, Photo Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Grey tanks are shared, so studios running both series can stock one set of core inks.

Matte Black or Photo Black?

Both series carry two blacks, each with its own nozzles, so there is no manual switching. Photo Black (PFI-3700PBK) is used on glossy, semi-gloss and lustre photo papers. Matte Black (PFI-2700MBK) is used on matte, fine art and canvas media, where it gives a deeper black.

Print Head & Maintenance Cartridge

Both series use the Canon PF-10 print head and the Canon MC-30 maintenance cartridge. When one ink runs low, check the others and the maintenance cartridge so you can replace them in the same order.
