Canon PFI-2300 Ink Cartridges

Which PFI-2300 Ink Fits My Printer?

All tanks are genuine Canon, 330ml, LUCIA PRO pigment ink. The GP-2000 and GP-4000 use all eleven; the newer GP-x600S and PRO-x600 printers share only some of them, so check the ticks before you order. Need a different size? See the PFI-2100 160ml range or the PFI-2700 700ml range.

✓ = fits. ✗ = that printer uses a different tank. The GP-2600S, GP-4600S, GP-6600S and PRO-2600, PRO-4600, PRO-6600 take their Photo Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Grey from the PFI-3300 330ml range. Not sure which ink you need? GP-2000 & GP-4000 11-Ink vs GP-x600S 7-Ink

• GP-2000 (24") and GP-4000 (44"), 11 inks: built for posters, retail and point-of-sale graphics with very wide, bright colour. On top of the core inks they add Red, Orange, Green and Violet for a wider gamut, plus Fluorescent Pink. All eleven are PFI-2300 tanks.
• GP-2600S, GP-4600S and GP-6600S, 7 inks: Matte Black, Photo Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Grey and Orange. Only the Matte Black and Orange are PFI-2300; the other five are PFI-3300.
• PRO-2600, PRO-4600 and PRO-6600, 12 inks: use the PFI-2300MBK Matte Black from this range; all other colours are PFI-3300.

Fluorescent Pink and Radiant Infusion

The PFI-2300FP Fluorescent Pink is unique to the GP-2000 and GP-4000. Canon's Radiant Infusion technology layers it with the other inks on the paper surface, so pinks, reds, oranges and even skin tones print brighter and more eye-catching, from soft pastels through to neon. It is ideal for posters, retail promotions and display graphics that need to stand out.

Choose Your Size: 160ml, 330ml or 700ml

Every PFI-2x00 colour comes in three sizes, and you can mix sizes across colours in the same printer.

• 160ml PFI-2100: lowest outlay per tank, ideal for occasional colours such as Violet or Fluorescent Pink
• 330ml PFI-2300 (this range): a balance of capacity and cost for regular poster and graphics work
• 700ml PFI-2300: fewest ink changes and usually the lowest cost per millilitre for high-volume printing

Matte Black or Photo Black?

The GP-2000 and GP-4000 carry two blacks, each with its own nozzles, so there is no manual switching. Photo Black (PFI-2300PBK) is used on glossy, satin and photo-based poster papers. Matte Black (PFI-2300MBK) is used on matte, uncoated and canvas media, where it gives a deeper black. The same PFI-2300MBK also fits the GP-x600S and PRO-x600, so one Matte Black can serve a mixed fleet.

Print Head & Maintenance Cartridge

The GP-2000 and GP-4000 use the Canon PF-10 print head and the Canon MC-30 maintenance cartridge. When one ink runs low, check the others and the maintenance cartridge so you can replace them in the same order.

Canon LUCIA PRO Pigment Ink

The GP-2000 and GP-4000 use Canon's 11-colour LUCIA PRO pigment ink set, developed for vivid, wide-gamut colour on poster, display and photo media. Every PFI-2300 tank is made to work with Canon printheads and imagePROGRAF media profiles, so colours stay consistent from print to print and from one printer to the next. That makes the range a strong fit for retail and point-of-sale graphics, event and exhibition posters, brand colour matching and photographic display prints.

The Canon imagePROGRAF GP-2000 and GP-4000 use all eleven PFI-2300 colours. The GP-2600S, GP-4600S and GP-6600S use the PFI-2300MBK Matte Black and PFI-2300O Orange, and the PRO-2600, PRO-4600 and PRO-6600 use the PFI-2300MBK Matte Black only.

Which PFI-2300 inks fit the GP-2600S, GP-4600S and GP-6600S?

The Matte Black (PFI-2300MBK) and Orange (PFI-2300O). Their Photo Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Grey are PFI-3300 tanks, not PFI-2300.

Do PFI-2300 inks fit the PRO-2600, PRO-4600 or PRO-6600?

Only the PFI-2300MBK Matte Black. The other eleven PRO-x600 inks are PFI-3300 tanks.

What is Fluorescent Pink used for?

The PFI-2300FP Fluorescent Pink is layered with the other inks by Canon's Radiant Infusion technology to make pinks, reds, oranges and skin tones brighter and more eye-catching. It is used on the GP-2000 and GP-4000 only.

How much ink does a Canon PFI-2300 cartridge contain?

Each tank contains 330ml of genuine Canon pigment ink. The same colours also come in 160ml PFI-2100 and 700ml PFI-2700 tanks.

Can I mix 160ml, 330ml and 700ml tanks in the same printer?

Yes. These printers accept all three sizes, so you can choose the size that suits each colour.

What is the difference between Photo Black and Matte Black?

Photo Black (PFI-2300PBK) is for glossy, satin and photo-based papers. Matte Black (PFI-2300MBK) is for matte, uncoated and canvas media. Both have dedicated nozzles, so the printer switches automatically.

They use the Canon PF-10 print head and the Canon MC-30 maintenance cartridge.

Are Canon PFI-2300 cartridges genuine Canon products?
