Matte Black or Black?

TX printers carry two blacks. Matte Black (PFI-110MBK, or PFI-113MBK on the TX-3300, TX-4300, TX-3310 and TX-4310) gives dense, crisp lines and text on plain and uncoated CAD paper, which is most technical plotting. Black (PFI-110BK) is used on coated and photo media, where it gives a deeper black on glossy and satin surfaces. The printer picks the right black for the paper you load, so there is no manual switching. Matte Black is usually the fastest-used tank in a drawing office, so it is worth keeping a spare.

Print Head, Maintenance Cartridge & Cutter

Every TX model on this page, from the TX-2000 to the TX-4310, uses the Canon PF-06 print head (2352C001AB) and the Canon MC-30 maintenance cartridge (1156C002AB). When one ink runs low, check the others and the maintenance cartridge so you can replace them in the same order. The TX-3300, TX-4300, TX-3310 and TX-4310 also use the Canon CT-07 cutter blade.

Both are 160ml Canon magenta tanks, but for different printers. PFI-110M (2366C001AA) fits the TX-2000, TX-2100, TX-3000, TX-3100, TX-4000 and TX-4100. PFI-111M (6846C001AA) fits the TX-3200, TX-4200, TX-3300, TX-4300, TX-3310 and TX-4310. They are not interchangeable.
