What size is A0 plotter paper?

A0 plotter paper is 841mm (33.1") wide, which matches the short edge of an A0 sheet (841 × 1189mm). Our A0 rolls are 45m, 50m, 90m or 91m long on a 2" core.

How many A0 prints do I get from a roll?

A 50m roll gives around 42 A0 portrait prints or around 84 A1 landscape prints. A 90m roll gives around 75 A0 prints or around 151 A1 prints. These figures are before allowing for margins and cutting waste.

Should I buy 841mm or 914mm (36") paper for A0?

Choose 841mm if you want A0 drawings at the exact size with no trimming. Choose 914mm (36") paper if your printer or workflow is set up for imperial roll sizes or you want a margin around A0 drawings. Both fit 36" plotters.

Should I buy genuine Canon paper or Xativa?

Genuine Canon IJM papers are made by Canon for imagePROGRAF printers, so they're a safe choice if you want Canon's own media. Xativa and our own CAD papers are cost-effective alternatives that give excellent results for everyday drawings and check plots.

Which paper weight should I choose?

75gsm and 80gsm suit high-volume check plots. 90gsm feels more substantial for client and site drawings. Canon IJM113 90gsm coated paper gives brighter colour for renders, and 112gsm tracing paper is for final drawings that need to be reproduced or archived.

Will A0 plotter paper fit my printer?

Yes, if your printer takes 36" (914mm) or wider rolls on a 2" core. That includes all Canon imagePROGRAF 36" and larger models, plus most HP DesignJet and Epson SureColor plotters. A0 paper won't fit a 24" printer. Call us if you'd like us to confirm compatibility.
